During the month of July, District Attorney Mike Hestrin addressed the membership of the Riverside County Deputy District Attorneys Association. During the presentation, Mr. Hestrin gave an overview of the state of the Office of the District Attorney since he assumed office in January 2015. Included in the discussion were highlights of the accomplishments achieved as well as a candid review of the challenges faced. Mr. Hestrin then laid out plans for continuing to work toward the vision he holds for the office. After lively question and answer periods, Mr. Hestrin called on the membership to join him in building on the foundation of his first term and continue the work of adapting to the changing environment of criminal prosecution and developing the best and most effective District Attorney’s office possible on behalf of the citizens of Riverside County.
In an overwhelming show of support, the membership cast over 90 percent of the votes in favor of endorsing Mr. Hestrin’s reelection bid. RCDDAA President, Jon Brandon, stated that the vote reflects the recognition of the membership of the need for stability in the leadership of the office and the commitment that District Attorney Hestrin has made to listening and responding to the concerns of the members. “While we do not agree on every issue,” Brandon said, “Mike Hestrin has forged a partnership with RCDDAA that is based on open communication and innovative problem solving that is vital to accomplishing our mission of service to Riverside County.”
The Riverside County Deputy District Attorneys Association is comprised of line level attorneys in the offices of the District Attorney, County Counsel, and the Department of Child Support Services throughout Riverside County.
